The Butterfly-Caterpillar Analogy:
Have you heard the story or analogy of the caterpillar becoming a butterfly? Did you know that a caterpillar completely liquifies inside its cocoon? For year I thought the butterfly spun its casing. Actually the caterpillar goes through convulsion like spasms and releases that cocoon goo through its skin!
That cocoon goo turns into a casing that dries hard. Inside the caterpillar is liquifying and reorganizing itself into a butterfly. From outside we can see the struggle the caterpillar is going through. If we interrupt that process and try to free the butterfly before it breaks through by itself, it will not live.
You see the butterfly has to form it’s new wings or it will never get off the ground. The process is painful but necessary. The very effort it takes to break out of this cocoon is what causes the wings to grow and be able to carry the butterfly in its new life.
