5 Reasons To Carry The FN Five seveN

About this video

Colion explains why he is seriously considering adding the FN 5.7 Gen 2 to his concealed carry rotation after years of ownership and extensive testing. He breaks down five reasons: the performance characteristics of the 5.7x28mm round, the high capacity (20 rounds flush-fit), the light recoil and flat shooting, improved concealability with modern holsters despite the gun’s size, and exceptional reliability with thousands of malfunction-free rounds. Colion emphasizes this reflects his personal preference for guns he genuinely enjoys shooting.

Key takeaways

• Colion argues the 5.7x28mm round offers nearly twice the velocity of 9mm, flatter trajectory, lead-free construction, and what he describes as greater ‘shock to the system’ despite lower energy
• Colion reports the FN 5.7 holds 20 rounds in a flush magazine roughly the size of a Glock 17, with 20-30% lighter recoil than comparable 9mm handguns and exceptionally flat shooting
• Colion states both his Gen 1 and Gen 2 FN 5.7s have been completely reliable through thousands of rounds with no malfunctions he can recall
