5 Reasons Why My Benelli M4 Is My Go To Home Defense Shotgun

About this video

Colion explains why the Benelli M4 semi-automatic shotgun is his top choice if he were to use a shotgun for home defense, though he clarifies his actual go-to home defense guns are a pistol and an AR-15. He breaks down five reasons the M4 appeals to him: its rifle-like ergonomics and familiarity, semi-auto operation, proven reliability through military use, high customizability, and overall quality and shooting enjoyment. Colion emphasizes that training, legal knowledge, and preparation are equally important to the gun itself.

Key takeaways

• Colion prefers the Benelli M4 for shotgun home defense because its pistol-grip setup and handling feel similar to an AR-15, a platform he trains with extensively
• According to Colion, semi-auto shotguns like the M4 are easier to run under stress than pump-action models, which require proper technique to avoid user-induced malfunctions
• Colion values the M4’s modularity, noting it can be customized with lights, optics, adjustable stocks, and capacity extensions to suit individual home defense needs
• Colion stresses that owning a defensive firearm requires training, understanding state self-defense laws, and preparing for potential legal consequences
