Before You Buy a Truck Gun… Watch What the Micro Draco Does

About this video

Colion explores whether the Micro Draco AK pistol could work as an effective truck gun, analyzing its advantages and drawbacks through hands-on testing. He examines factors including the weapon’s compact size, concussion and blast characteristics, effective range limitations, manual of arms differences from AR platforms, and storage challenges. Colion concludes that while the Micro Draco might work well for certain users in urban close-range scenarios who train extensively with AK platforms, it presents significant compromises that make it unsuitable for many armed citizens depending on their environment, training background, and needs.

Key takeaways

• Colion argues the Micro Draco’s compact folded size and portability in a backpack are major advantages for vehicle carry, allowing the gun to be taken with you rather than left vulnerable in the vehicle
• According to Colion, the platform’s concussion is severe even with a blast mitigator, and it performs best at 5-50 yard defensive distances but becomes unreliable beyond 100 yards
• Colion teaches that the AK manual of arms (rock-in magazines, safety lever, side charging handle) requires dedicated training to avoid mistakes under stress, especially for those accustomed to AR-platform muscle memory
