CN Live Interview w/ Larry Vickers

About this video

Colion interviews retired Delta Force operator and firearms industry consultant Larry Vickers about his military background, transition to civilian life, and extensive work in the firearms industry. Vickers describes his consulting contributions to firearms like the HK416 and HK45, his preference for online video over traditional TV, and his coffee table book series on firearms history and design.

Key takeaways

• Vickers explains that he was involved in the early development of the HK416, which he says was designed specifically to provide reliable function with barrel lengths shorter than 14.5 inches for tier-one special operations use.
• According to Vickers, most military members are not hardcore gun enthusiasts—his passion for firearms was personal, and military service accelerated his learning by opening doors and opportunities.
• Vickers shares his view that online video content offers more creative freedom than traditional TV because creators aren’t constrained by rigid time formats and can receive direct viewer feedback.
