Criminally Underrated FN 509 Midsize Tactical

About this video

Colion reviews the FN 509 Midsize Tactical, a 9mm pistol he describes as FN’s answer to the Glock 19. He explains his initial skepticism about midsize guns but argues this model impressed him during live fire testing. Colion breaks down the gun’s aesthetics, grip texture design, trigger quality, and shooting characteristics, concluding it’s an underrated option for shooters wanting more substance than micro-compacts without going full-size.

Key takeaways

• Colion argues the FN 509 Midsize Tactical is significantly underrated, praising its flat recoil impulse and balanced feel despite his general fatigue with midsize pistols
• According to Colion, the gun features excellent suppressor-height night sights, a smooth non-gritty trigger (5-7 lbs), multi-directional grip texturing, threaded barrel, and comes with both 15- and 24-round magazines
• Colion teaches that this gun suits shooters with larger hands who want confidence and shootability without carrying a full-size pistol, and can serve double-duty for home defense and carry
