Did Springfield Quietly Build a Glock 19X Killer (Echelon 4.0 FC)

About this video

Colion reviews the Springfield Echelon 4.0 FC, a 9mm pistol featuring a full-size grip paired with a compact slide—a configuration he describes as his preferred setup for striker-fired handguns. He explains why he believes this particular proportion (full grip for control, shorter slide for speed) creates what he considers an optimal balance for fast shooting and recoil management. Colion compares it to the Glock 19X format and argues that this version has become his favorite Echelon model, while expressing enthusiasm about the possibility of a future compensated variant.

Key takeaways

• Colion advocates for full-size grip with compact slide configurations, arguing they provide better leverage and control while maintaining faster slide cycling and improved balance
• Colion teaches that longer grips offer more surface area for recoil management, while shorter slides reduce nose-heaviness and improve target transitions
• Colion positions this pistol as ideal for shooters who want a do-everything gun that handles carry, home defense, and range work without the compromises of pure compact or full-size platforms
