Gavin Newsom Gifted A Gun On Shawn Ryan Podcast, Claims He's Not Anti-Gun

About this video

Colion breaks down a recent podcast clip in which California Governor Gavin Newsom appears on the Shawn Ryan Show and accepts a firearm as a gift while claiming he’s not anti-gun. Colion argues this is calculated political theater designed to rebrand Newsom as a moderate ahead of a 2028 presidential run, and he contrasts Newsom’s statements in the clip with what Colion describes as Newsom’s long record of anti-Second Amendment policies in California. Colion warns viewers not to be deceived by the optics and urges them to remember Newsom’s actual policy positions.

Key takeaways

• Colion asserts that Newsom’s podcast appearance is strategic propaganda, using soundbites and imagery to appear moderate to undecided voters despite his record
• Colion highlights what he views as Newsom’s contradictory language—claiming to respect gun rights while using terms like ‘weapons of war’ and ’large capacity magazine clips’
• Colion emphasizes the importance of the Second Amendment as a check against tyranny and warns that political landscapes can shift quickly, making vigilance essential
