HK P30sk: Initial Impression

About this video

Colion reviews the HK P30SK subcompact pistol, examining whether HK successfully scaled down the full-size P30. He walks through the gun’s features, build quality, ergonomics, and various configuration options, comparing it to competitors like the Glock 26. Colion argues the P30SK is designed for HK enthusiasts who prioritize craftsmanship and detail over weight or price considerations.

Key takeaways

• Colion describes the P30SK as over-engineered with premium materials (steel sights, heavy-duty components), making it noticeably heavier and thicker than comparable subcompacts like the Glock 26
• According to Colion, the grip texture and ergonomics feel excellent despite the pinky-finger issue, and HK offers extensive configuration options (V1-V1000 variants with different trigger systems and safeties)
• Colion believes HK designed this gun for existing HK/P30 owners who want a smaller carry option and value meticulous detail over optimization for concealment or weight
