HK P30SK Shooting Review: The Little P30 That Could

About this video

Colion reviews the HK P30 SK subcompact pistol, sharing his analysis of its design trade-offs and shooting performance. He explains that the gun prioritizes ergonomics and build quality over size and capacity, making it larger and heavier than competing subcompacts. Colion argues the gun’s exceptional grip design, smooth double-action trigger, and manageable recoil justify its premium price, though he notes the trigger reset and overall dimensions may not suit everyone’s concealed carry needs.

Key takeaways

• Colion teaches that the P30 SK trades compact size for superior ergonomics and shootability compared to similarly-sized guns
• According to Colion, the gun’s heavier slide and high bore axis limit speed, but the dense build quality helps manage recoil effectively for a subcompact
• Colion explains the paddle magazine release and textured grip design make the gun highly functional despite unconventional features, though the long trigger reset may be a drawback for some shooters
