If I Could Own One Pistol Caliber Carbine, It'd Be This One

About this video

Colion argues that pistol caliber carbines are often dismissed as range toys, but presents the Daniel Defense PCC as his top choice if forced to select only one. He explains this preference is based on its high-quality AR platform familiarity, smooth recoil from the hydraulic buffer system, customizability with standard AR parts, and versatility for home defense, training, and competition use. Colion emphasizes the gun’s reliability across various conditions and ammunition types, plus its practical advantages for indoor use including reduced over-penetration risk and lower noise levels compared to rifle calibers.

Key takeaways

• Colion considers the Daniel Defense PCC the best single pistol caliber carbine choice because it’s a true high-quality AR platform that shoots 9mm, providing zero learning curve for AR users
• According to Colion, the hydraulic buffer system delivers exceptionally smooth recoil, and the platform accepts any AR trigger for customization to personal preferences
• Colion argues 9mm in this carbine format offers practical home defense advantages including lower recoil for follow-up shots, reduced over-penetration risk versus 5.56, less hearing damage, and easier indoor maneuverability
