Is The Glock 19 Still The King Of Concealed Carry?

About this video

Colion examines whether the Glock 19 still deserves its status as the default concealed carry recommendation in today’s crowded handgun market. He traces the Glock 19’s history and legendary reliability, but argues that newer compact pistols now offer comparable dependability with better ergonomics, capacity, and size. Colion concludes the Glock 19 remains a top-five choice and excellent starter gun, but is no longer the automatic answer it once was, as personal preference and specific needs should now guide carry gun selection.

Key takeaways

• Colion teaches that while the Glock 19 built its reputation on simplicity and proven reliability since 1988, modern competitors now match that reliability standard
• According to Colion, newer compact models like the Hellcat Pro and Sig P365 offer smaller frames with equal or greater capacity than the Glock 19
• Colion advises that the Glock 19 remains a solid top-five carry option and excellent beginner choice, but the best carry gun now depends on individual fit and preference rather than one universal recommendation
