Is The Kimber Micro 9 A Good Everyday Carry Gun?

About this video

Colion reviews the Kimber Micro 9 as a potential everyday carry (EDC) pistol, examining factors he considers important for carry guns including concealability, shootability, capacity, and aesthetics. He argues that despite its limited seven-plus-one capacity, the Micro 9’s small size, accuracy, and shootability make it a viable EDC option for those who understand the trade-offs inherent in choosing a compact firearm. Colion emphasizes that this 1911-style pistol requires proper lubrication and training to the manual safety.

Key takeaways

• Colion argues the Micro 9’s small size and all-metal construction make it highly concealable while providing enough weight to mitigate recoil, making it surprisingly accurate and enjoyable to shoot for its size category
• According to Colion, the gun’s seven-plus-one capacity is a trade-off for concealability, but he believes its superior shootability and intuitive 1911 grip angle compensate for the limited round count at typical self-defense distances
• Colion stresses that as a 1911-style pistol with tight tolerances, the Micro 9 requires regular lubrication to function reliably and that carriers must train specifically to disengage the manual safety under stress
