Joe Biden Uses State Of The Union Address To Be Dishonest About Guns

About this video

Colion argues that President Biden’s State of the Union address on gun violence was strategically designed to advance gun control by highlighting a hero who stopped a mass shooter without using a firearm, while ignoring multiple defensive gun use incidents where armed citizens saved lives. He contends that Biden and gun control advocates know that assault weapon bans are ineffective based on past data, but push them anyway as part of a incremental strategy to eventually ban all civilian firearms. Colion teaches that the best way to stop an armed attacker is with a firearm, and frames gun ownership as empowerment for self-defense.

Key takeaways

• Colion claims Biden selectively highlighted a non-gun defense while ignoring several recent cases where armed citizens stopped mass shooters, to support an anti-gun narrative
• Colion asserts that rifles (including AR-15s) are used in far fewer homicides than knives, blunt objects, or hands and feet, citing FBI statistics he presents
• Colion argues that the 1994-2004 assault weapon ban had no measurable effect on gun violence according to studies he references, and that current ban proposals are part of a incremental disarmament strategy
