Liberal Gun Owners Are Naive

About this video

Colion addresses liberal and left-leaning gun owners, arguing that the modern Democratic Party has been overtaken by Democratic Socialists who, according to him, fundamentally oppose the Second Amendment. He presents his analysis of Democratic Socialist materials and statements to support his claim that this faction seeks to repeal the Second Amendment and confiscate firearms. Colion warns viewers that voting for Democrats now means voting against gun rights, framing the party’s evolution as a shift toward socialism incompatible with civilian firearm ownership.

Key takeaways

• Colion argues that approximately one-third of Democrats now identify as Democratic Socialists, a faction he claims is younger, more motivated, and fundamentally anti-Second Amendment
• According to Colion, Democratic Socialists of America published materials in 2018 calling for the repeal of the Second Amendment and banning most firearms, which he presents as proof of their intentions
• Colion contends that pro-gun Karl Marx quotes used by socialists are misleading context, arguing that Marx only wanted an armed working class temporarily for revolution, not as a permanent right
• Colion warns that socialism and the Second Amendment are incompatible systems, claiming no socialist or communist country permits individual civilian gun ownership at scale
