Mossberg 940 Pro Tactical SPX

About this video

Colion reviews Mossberg’s 940 Tactical SPX shotgun, presenting it as an upgraded version of the standard 940 Tactical that he previously covered. He argues this model is purpose-built for home defense with features like an extended top rail that provides better hand placement and heat shielding, relocated QD sling mounts, an included side-saddle shell carrier, and an enlarged loading port. Colion demonstrates the shotgun and explains how these tactical enhancements make it more comfortable and practical to train with for defensive purposes.

Key takeaways

• Colion describes the extended top rail as a major improvement, allowing a more natural forward grip while protecting the thumb from barrel heat during shooting
• According to Colion, the SPX’s design features (rail system, adjustable stock, ghost ring sights, and improved loading port) make it more purpose-driven for home defense than the standard 940 Tactical
• Colion emphasizes that having a defensive shotgun that’s comfortable and enjoyable to shoot increases the likelihood that owners will actually train with it and develop proficiency
