Representative Eric Swalwell Calls For Ban & Buyback Of All AR-15s

About this video

Colion analyzes a tweet from Representative Eric Swalwell calling for an assault weapons ban and mandatory buybacks. He argues that politicians use the term ‘assault weapon’ to demonize AR-15s not because they cause the most deaths, but because they represent the greatest check against government tyranny. Colion contends that buybacks are confiscation using taxpayers’ own money, and that invoking children’s safety is an emotional tactic designed to shut down rational debate about gun rights.

Key takeaways

• Colion argues that ‘assault weapon’ is a politically invented term used to scare people, and that AR-15s cause far fewer deaths than handguns, knives, or even fists and feet
• According to Colion, mandatory buybacks are confiscation programs funded by taxpayers’ own money, giving gun owners only a fraction of what they paid while creating the illusion of compensation
• Colion believes politicians invoke protecting children as an emotional shield to prevent honest debate and to make gun owners defend themselves against accusations of wanting kids to die, rather than discussing effective safety measures
