Sig P226-XFive Reserve Collection Review, Is It Worth It?

About this video

Colion reviews the Sig Sauer Reserve Collection P226 X5, describing it as a visually striking, limited-edition pistol that he believes combines exceptional aesthetics with high performance. He walks through his experience with the gun’s ergonomics, weight, shooting characteristics, and design features, highlighting both what he appreciates and a few minor frustrations. Colion argues this is a collector’s piece that also delivers as a range shooter, though at a premium price point.

Key takeaways

• Colion describes the Reserve Collection P226 X5 as exceptionally ergonomic with a grip he finds among the best he’s handled, though he notes the gun is noticeably heavy
• According to Colion, the weight and integrated compensator make the gun shoot very softly with flat recoil, but the heft slows transitions between targets
• Colion points out that the red dot mounting system removes the rear sight and leaves visible holes, requiring a proprietary Sig sight to co-witness, which he finds mildly annoying
• Colion characterizes this as a limited-edition collector’s gun priced around $2,800, arguing it offers a combination of luxury aesthetics and shooting performance for fans of the P226 platform
