Sig Sauer SP 2022: Back Then They Didn't Want it

About this video

Colion argues the Sig Sauer SP 2022 is an underrated polymer-framed handgun that delivers near-premium performance at a budget price point. He presents it as offering the look and functionality of higher-end Sig models for a fraction of the cost, with features typically found on more expensive firearms. While acknowledging it’s not perfect and won’t replace a Glock for everyone, Colion maintains it deserves serious consideration for anyone seeking a versatile handgun on a budget.

Key takeaways

• Colion describes the SP 2022 as available at very affordable prices (he mentions seeing prices under $450) while offering features like night sights, replaceable backstraps, and good ergonomics typically found on more expensive guns
• According to Colion, the trigger system offers a relatively smooth double-action pull with a slight false reset, and the gun provides easy shooting with good maneuverability despite low bore axis not being a strong point
• Colion suggests the SP 2022 is particularly valuable as a first handgun for learning double/single action systems before moving to striker-fired options, and serves well for multiple roles despite lacking some refinements of aluminum-frame Sig models
