The Bougie Draco | FN Scar 15P 300 Blackout

About this video

Colion reviews the FN SCAR 15P chambered in 300 Blackout, explaining why he believes this caliber makes more sense than 5.56/.223 in a 7-inch barrel pistol platform. He demonstrates shooting both supersonic and subsonic ammunition, highlighting what he sees as the gun’s ability to run subsonic rounds unsuppressed—a feature he argues makes it particularly effective as a home defense or truck gun at close to intermediate ranges. Colion concludes by sharing his plans to modify the pistol with accessories and possibly make it his primary home defense firearm.

Key takeaways

• Colion argues that 300 Blackout is better suited than 5.56/.223 for short-barreled platforms like the 7-inch SCAR 15P, since 300 Blackout was designed for shorter barrels
• According to Colion, the SCAR 15P in 300 Blackout can reliably cycle subsonic ammunition while unsuppressed, which he believes makes it superior for close-range defensive scenarios due to lower pressure and manageable recoil
• Colion suggests the platform’s effective defensive range is roughly 25-50 yards, noting that justifying defensive use beyond 100 yards would be difficult in most scenarios
