They Say We Care More About Guns Than Kids

About this video

Colion critiques a prosecutor’s statement blaming gun owners for a terrorist attack, arguing it’s emotional manipulation rather than honest debate. He breaks down what he sees as logical flaws in the claim that Americans ‘care more about guns than children,’ contending that gun owners possess firearms precisely to protect their families. Colion frames the debate as an effort to shift blame from criminals to law-abiding citizens and discusses his interpretation of constitutional principles and Supreme Court rulings on government duty to protect.

Key takeaways

• Colion argues the ‘care more about guns than children’ argument is emotional manipulation designed to shame gun owners rather than engage honest debate
• Colion contends millions of Americans own firearms specifically because they care about protecting their families and refuse to be powerless when facing threats
• Colion interprets Supreme Court rulings (citing cases he names) as establishing that government has no duty to protect individual citizens, making self-defense a personal responsibility
• Colion views the Second Amendment, in his interpretation of the founders’ intent, as a check on government power rather than a privilege granted by government
