What Happens When You Stop Treating A Cheap Rifle Like A Cheap Rifle?

About this video

Colion revisits his earlier review of the $600 Ruger Harrier rifle by extensively upgrading it with premium accessories including a $450 FRT trigger, high-end optics, suppressor, and lights. He argues that after extensive testing—including rapid-fire mag dumps in Texas heat without cleaning—the budget rifle performed flawlessly and felt indistinguishable from far more expensive builds. Colion concludes by removing his earlier qualifier that the rifle is merely “good for the price,” instead asserting it’s simply a quality platform that newcomers can build on gradually over time.

Key takeaways

• Colion demonstrates that the $600 Ruger Harrier handled over $3,000 in premium upgrades (including a Rare Breed FRT-15 C3 trigger, Leupold optics, suppressor, and accessories) without any malfunctions or performance issues
• Colion teaches that the Rare Breed C3 trigger offers both a two-stage precision mode and a single-stage FRT mode in one unit, providing shooters flexibility between precision and speed
• Colion advises that buyers don’t need to replicate his expensive build—instead, he suggests the Harrier works as an excellent base platform that owners can upgrade gradually over years as budget allows
