Will This New Rifle Replace The Mark 12? - Daniel Defense DD4 SPR-3

About this video

Colion reviews Daniel Defense’s DD4 SPR 3 rifle, which he describes as an evolved version of their Mark 12-inspired precision rifle. He walks through the design changes, including the new rail system, adjustable stock, and fully ambidextrous controls, arguing that the rifle balances precision and maneuverability. Colion emphasizes that this is a purpose-built rifle for shooters who want a cohesive, ready-to-run platform rather than a project to customize.

Key takeaways

• Colion explains that the SPR 3 builds on the Mark 12 concept—a precision fighting rifle meant to blend bolt-action accuracy with AR-15 speed and handling
• He highlights key features including the 18-inch stainless barrel, Daniel Defense RIS III rail with Arc Lock system, Magpul PRS Lite stock, and fully ambidextrous controls that address his past criticisms
• Colion argues the rifle is designed for shooters who value a complete, factory-built platform over building and tinkering, offering balanced weight distribution and excellent trigger feel for both fast shooting and long-range precision
