10 Dumbest Books You Can Publish on KDP

About this video

Dale warns that many shortcut book types put a KDP account at risk, starting with raw AI-written content, which he says still needs extensive rewriting and deep editing and often reads poorly. He also cautions against using trademarked names without permission, citing his own abandoned CrossFit project and an acquaintance who received a cease and desist over TRX and had his account suspended. Other risky categories include unauthorized summary books, noting IngramSpark barred them around April 2020, machine-translated books from auto-translators rather than experienced human translators, and racy titles with expletives that block Amazon and Facebook advertising. He further lists pornography, PLR content, undifferentiated public domain reprints, duplicate low-content interiors, plagiarized or spun content, and books teaching unethical or immoral practices or spreading misinformation. Throughout, he stresses that unhappy readers can use the report abuse button on product pages, and that KDP, not creators, sets the rules.

Key takeaways

• Do not publish raw AI output; Dale says it needs extensive rewriting and deep editing first
• Get permission before using trademarked names like CrossFit or TRX, keep records of communications, and do not misrepresent the brand or use its logos
• Avoid PLR, duplicate low-content interiors, and public domain reprints with nothing new added, as duplicate content draws suspensions and terminations
• Use a human translator instead of Google or auto-translation software, and run hired writing through a plagiarism checker
• Racy titles and pornographic content limit advertising and discoverability and can lead to account shutdown
