Amazon KDP Exposed: SHOCKING Truth

About this video

Note: summarized from the Arabic caption track. Dale reads a series of brutal one- and two-star Trustpilot reviews of Amazon KDP and rebuts or concedes each one. On a reviewer who lost account access and earnings right after blocking phone and email scammers, he calls the link a conspiracy theory but warns authors to verify that any KDP email really comes from an Amazon address such as kdp.amazon.com, and notes that anyone asking you for money is not Amazon KDP. On the ‘Parenting Guidelines’ complaint — proofreading promised but not done, and a book agreed at 6 x 9 arriving at 8.5 x 11 inches — he insists KDP has never offered editing or proofreading: authors must bring a finished manuscript, and a scammer may have sold the reviewer that service. He concedes the pain of a coloring-book account closed within 24 hours for ‘manipulating’ Kindle services, with about a month to get a reply, criticizing KDP’s guilty-until-proven-innocent approach and noting the only contact route is the termination notice email. He repeats that the only money KDP should ever get from an author is for proof or author copies. On a design rejection, he explains ebook text is reflowable — readers control font and size — unless you lock a PDF into an EPUB, which he says Kindle Kids Book Creator can do, while print formatting is 100% the author’s PDF. On a children’s-book print-quality complaint (inconsistent white edges, alleged glossy paper), he says KDP support does call back within 5 to 10 minutes but you never get one case owner; there is no true glossy stock — premium color has a slight sheen on heavier paper, other options use 55-pound stock — and print-on-demand quality varies by region, so consistent quality means offset printing, possibly crowdfunded via Kickstarter or Indiegogo. He closes by pitching channel memberships at daleinks.com/membership.

Key takeaways

• Verify any ‘KDP’ email’s Amazon address and never pay for anything but proof or author copies — anyone demanding other money is a scammer
• KDP does not edit or proofread; the manuscript must be finished before upload
• Account terminations are handled only through the termination-notice email, and Dale criticizes KDP’s shoot-first appeals process
• Ebook formatting is reflowable unless locked via PDF-to-EPUB; print interiors are entirely the author’s PDF
• Print-on-demand quality varies by printer region — Dale says there is no true glossy KDP stock, and consistent quality requires offset printing
