CAUTION! Impersonation Scam Affects Authors | What You Need to Know

About this video

Dale warns followers that someone is impersonating him on Facebook to scam his followers, using his name, profile picture, and even some of his links to make the fake account look legitimate. Identifying himself as a self-publishing advocate and author of over 50 books behind the Self Publishing with Dale YouTube channels, he states clearly what he does not do: he does not send random direct messages to people he does not know, does not cold pitch his services in private messages, does not offer coaching or consultations right now, and will never reach out asking viewers to pay for anything. He gives his official Facebook page as facebook.com/selfpubale, saying that is the only one he uses and that he can also be found under that name. He instructs anyone contacted by the impersonator to report and block them immediately, and says he will drop the link to the fake profile in the pinned comment and video description so viewers can report it. He closes by telling viewers to stay safe and thanking them for supporting real creators.
