About this video

In a non-standard video, Dale Roberts pitches YouTube channel memberships for Self Publishing with Dale, describing them as like YouTube subscriptions on steroids and a better version of Patreon that stays on YouTube, without affecting a normal subscription. All tiers include a special badge next to your name, priority flagging of member comments, and custom emojis for comments and live chat, with each higher tier inheriting lower-tier rewards. He lists five tiers: Supporter at $1.99 for exclusive videos including a back catalog and monthly content; Indie Author at $4.99 per month, described as the most popular, with behind-the-scenes videos and unreleased footage; Experienced Author at $24.99 with beta access to his future book releases emailed to members; Best-Selling Author at $49.99 per month with an autographed copy of the book of the month mailed by him anywhere in the world; and Unlimited Author at $99.99 per month with unlimited email support and one monthly 15-minute video chat, which he frames as lower-level coaching and consulting. He says membership funds help cushion video production costs, build his team of about three people, and fund gear upgrades, since AdSense and affiliate marketing alone do not cover the time involved.
