Lulu Book Review | Self Published Book Unboxing

About this video

In this self-published book unboxing, Dale reviews a Lulu print-on-demand copy sent by channel friend Darren Powis, judging the platform on three metrics: delivery time, shipping and handling, and quality. On delivery, he says the book arrived in five days on standard shipping — the fastest of the many books sent to his address, faster in his view than Amazon. On shipping and handling he is underwhelmed: the book came in a bubble-wrap envelope rather than a corrugated box like CreateSpace used, and although it arrived undamaged he recommends Lulu use corrugated packaging to reduce damage risk. On quality he is enthusiastic: the glossy cover feels good and does not mark up like copies from Amazon KDP Print or CreateSpace, the cut is excellent, and the cream-colored paper in the six-by-nine book impresses him. He says a fuller side-by-side platform comparison will follow in a later video.
