What are the Supported Languages on KDP?

About this video

(Summarized from the Arabic caption track.) Dale Roberts explains which languages can be published on Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing. Based on his own experience and work through Babel Cube, he says he has published in English, German, French, Italian, Dutch, Spanish and Portuguese, but those are not the only options — there are 39 supported languages in total. He stresses that this matters because, according to Amazon as he quotes it, authors and publishers can upload and sell books with content and metadata in the listed languages, while content uploaded in unsupported languages will not display correctly on Kindle devices and will be removed from sale. He notes Romanian does not appear to be supported yet, warns that some languages are supported for ebooks only, and says he will leave the full list and a link to the page he showed in the video description. He closes by inviting viewers to share their experiences publishing in other languages or hiring a translator.
