How to Use Curiosity & Focus to Create a Joyful & Meaningful Life | Dr. Bernardo Huberman

About this video

Dr. Bernardo Huberman, Andrew Huberman’s father, reflects on a life in science spanning relativity theory, chaos theory and quantum computing, presented in plain language for listeners without a physics or mathematics background. The conversation ranges over neuroscience, where we come from, purpose, family and scientific community, and his experience immigrating from South America and doing science in the United States then and now. Bernardo Huberman rejects the myth that a scientist must live like a monk, describing his enjoyment of walks after dinner, cycling, espresso, good meals, beauty and slow eating, inherited in part from his own father. He argues that aesthetic and everyday pleasures are compatible with, rather than distractions from, a curious and meaningful life.
