Bill Graduates Residency
About this video
A very short, mostly musical sketch: Bill finishes residency, exchanges a few words with Phil, who is just starting, and offers only bleak encouragement about the experience ahead. Flanary keeps the dialogue minimal, letting the contrast between the departing and arriving residents carry the joke. The sketch functions as a graduation gag about residency as something endured rather than celebrated.
Key takeaways
- The sketch treats finishing residency as relief rather than triumph
- Flanary contrasts a new resident’s optimism with a graduate’s exhaustion
- Minimal dialogue is used for comic effect
