How to Ace Your Neurology Interview
About this video
A neurology residency interview becomes a contest of intellect and insults, with the applicant matching the neurologist’s elaborate self-regard. Flanary satirizes neurology’s reputation for exhaustive examinations, complex vocabulary, and specialty superiority as the pair trade boasts about stroke consults, neuroanatomy, and dismissals of other fields. The final test is a roast, and surviving the neurologist’s escalating insults is portrayed as proof the applicant belongs in the specialty.
Key takeaways
- Flanary portrays neurology culture as proudly intellectual and combative
- The sketch satirizes rivalry with surgery, cardiology, psychiatry, and hospital medicine
