Jonathan Head Nod Compilation
About this video
This compilation strings together clips of Jonathan, the deadpan medical scribe, from across Flanary’s sketches. Other characters narrate a loose day in his life: examining eyes, documenting for multiple physicians, being lent out for deluxe treatment packages, receiving a Valentine, and joining family medicine for sandwiches during prior authorization work. The running joke is that Jonathan’s loyal, mostly silent presence, punctuated by his signature head nod, makes every physician who has one the envy of those who do not.
Key takeaways
- The compilation isolates Jonathan’s silent head nod as the character’s signature behavior
- Flanary frames the scribe as doing the documentation work physicians want to escape
- Other physicians in the clips openly envy anyone who has a Jonathan
- It is a fan-service montage rather than a new story
Episode details: published November 11, 2022 · 148.1K views · 3:22 long. Summary written by Self Growth Videos from the episode itself. Everything described is Dr. Glaucomflecken’s (Will Flanary, MD) satire and commentary on the US medical system, attributed to him as satire — his sketches are comedy, not documentation, and this is not medical advice.
