The Reverse Tooth Fairy
About this video
Bill mentions tooth decay while presenting a head exam on rounds and is warned he has crossed into dentistry’s territory. Flanary invents a reverse Tooth Fairy who punishes doctors who practice dentistry by adding extra molars to their gums, turning scope-of-practice anxiety into a horror joke. A dentist character explains the boundary while Bill panics, and the sketch satirizes how completely medicine and dentistry are siloed despite sharing the same patient.
Key takeaways
- Flanary satirizes medicine’s reluctance to comment on teeth during physical exams
- The sketch portrays dentistry as fiercely territorial about its scope
- A fictional reverse Tooth Fairy is used as an enforcement threat
