Why 99% of Etsy Shops FAIL (Do THIS To Destroy Your Etsy Shop in 2025)

About this video

A satirical, reverse-advice video titled around how to make an Etsy shop ‘crash and burn’ in 2024. Every point is presented sarcastically as something to do, meaning the intended lesson is to do the opposite. The bad practices she mocks include: chasing bestsellers on EverBee and copying them with only a tiny change; filling shops only with t-shirts, wall art, or mugs, even splitting them into separate named shops; niching and sub-niching down excessively; using the same SEO, such as ‘gift for her,’ on every listing; using identical mockups with no A/B testing; pricing at or above market leaders at full price and refusing sales for the first three months; begging friends, family, and Facebook contacts to buy; chasing every holiday with at least 100 listings per holiday posted about a month before and left up afterwards; copy-pasting long ChatGPT descriptions unchanged into every listing; slapping one design onto as many products as possible even when inappropriate; and believing you need a minimum of 1,000 listings before expecting sales. She ends the sarcasm by joking about moving to Amazon FBA for low overhead.

Key takeaways

• This video uses sarcasm: the listed tactics are examples of what NOT to do
• Do not copy bestsellers with only a small change and call it inspiration
• Do not use identical SEO, mockups, and descriptions across all listings
• Do not rely on quantity alone — publishing 1,000 low-effort listings is mocked as a failure path
• Do not build the shop around begging friends and family or chasing every holiday with mass listings
