Best Dog & Cat Food: What a Holistic Vet Actually Feeds - Dr. Judy Morgan | TUH #298

About this video

Brecka interviews holistic veterinarian Dr. Judy Morgan about the parallel chronic-disease crisis in pets. Morgan claims over half of US pets are overweight or obese, most indoor cats are highly stressed, and dog cancer rates are extremely high, with pets living shorter lives than in the 1970s despite better diagnostics. She blames, in her account, ultra-processed extruded pet foods — high-heat, starch-bound, preserved and topped up with synthetic vitamins, with problems she cites such as copper excess — plus over-vaccination and corporate and private-equity influence on veterinary care, and advocates food therapy and fresh, gently cooked foods within Chinese-medicine balance principles.

Key takeaways

• Morgan claims pet longevity has gone backwards while chronic inflammation has risen, in her presentation
• Morgan argues extruded kibble’s processing and preservatives destroy and distort nutrition, as she describes it
• Morgan says ingredient splitting can hide how much corn or pea content a food contains
• Brecka and Morgan draw a direct parallel between human and pet food and pharma incentives
