Ryan Duey: How Cold Plunging Boosts Mental Health, Focus and Recovery | TUH #067

About this video

Plunge co-founder Ryan Duey tells Brecka how he and his partner moved from float-tank centers, closed during the pandemic, into building a cold plunge company. Duey says customer feedback consistently points to mood, energy and mental health as the main reported benefits, ahead of workout recovery, and shares anecdotal customer stories to that effect. Brecka, a daily user and advocate of the product, describes cold plunging as his favorite modality; the episode blends Duey’s business story with both men’s claims about mental clarity and resilience from cold exposure.

Key takeaways

• Duey says the company grew out of float centers shut down in 2020 and a makeshift cold-water practice
• Duey states customer feedback most often centers on mood, energy and mental health rather than physical recovery alone
• Brecka argues cold exposure creates momentum that carries into the rest of the day
• Both men frame the company’s approach around win-win relationships and gratitude paired with self-transformation
