No Man Left Behind — Bullshit.
The men who gave everything. The ones the institution forgot, delayed, denied, and buried in paperwork. We don't forget.
That’s the creed. The promise. The thing we tell ourselves and each other and the men going into the fight.
No man left behind.
Neil Roberts fell from a helicopter over Takur Ghar, Afghanistan on March 4, 2002. Every man on this page went back for him.
John Chapman led the assault to reach him. Was shot. Left for dead. Got up. Fought alone for over an hour. Died on that mountain.
Pat Tillman walked away from the NFL after the towers fell. Was killed by friendly fire. The Army buried the truth for five weeks.
Gary Gordon and Randy Shughart asked three times to insert into Mogadishu to protect a downed pilot. Were told no twice. Went in on the third ask knowing no backup was coming. Both killed in action.
These pages exist because the creed deserves to be held accountable — and because the men who kept it, and the men the institution failed, deserve to be remembered by name.
We name them here. We don’t sanitize it. We don’t move on.
