FORTIFIED FAITH - Inky Johnson | Serendipity Podcast - Season 2 Episode 25

About this video

Johnson and his co-host Oak discuss success, failure, and competition through a wide-ranging conversation. Johnson shares perspectives on defining success personally rather than by external standards, processing failure as part of growth, and distinguishing between loving to win versus loving to compete. Oak emphasizes that love—not external validation—must fuel one’s pursuits, and argues that spiritual maturity means moving from faith (belief) to knowledge (certainty) through lived experience.

Key takeaways

• Johnson argues success requires three elements: loving what you do, knowing what you do through study and preparation, and believing in what you do even through adversity
• Oak contends that failure loses its power when you’re driven by love for the work itself rather than external rewards, and that discernment helps distinguish when to endure versus when to adjust course
• Johnson distinguishes between loving to compete (the daily grind and preparation) versus loving to win (the outcome), suggesting toxic competition stems from seeking external validation rather than intrinsic fulfillment
