About this video

McPhee discusses his whiskey selection (Blood Oath Packet No. 7) while sharing his perspective on the death of a terrorist leader, reflecting on the motivations behind such individuals’ actions, the cycles of violence in conflict zones, and the tactical execution involved in the operation.

Key takeaways

• McPhee argues that terrorist operatives may be motivated by concerns about what happens to their families after capture or death, which he suggests perpetuates cycles of violence and tribal conflict
• McPhee contends that having a family makes someone vulnerable and ‘gettable’ in conflict situations, and he speculates this dynamic drives some of the decision-making by extremist actors
• McPhee recommends Blood Oath Packet No. 7 whiskey, describing it as having sweet flavor with heat and a faint honey note
