COMPLETE PLACEIT TUTORIAL 2024 (How to Create Digital Products and Graphic Designs on PlaceIt)

About this video

A step-by-step tour of Placeit.net for small business owners, designers and product sellers. Kate explains the pricing model: some templates, logos and mockups are free, paid items can be bought as single downloads, or via a monthly or annual unlimited subscription, which she says is normally 89.65 for an annual subscription or 14.95 a month, with a 15% discount through her affiliate link. She notes downloads come with a commercial license, mockups and designs download as PNG, videos as MP4, and social graphics in the format required by the platform. She then demonstrates the main categories in the top menu - mockups, design templates, logos and videos - by editing a retro 70s-style t-shirt design (changing wording, fonts, background and font colours, graphics, and cropping to a t-shirt preset), placing a design onto t-shirt and coffee mug mockups (including adding text such as an 11 ounce size note and making a background transparent), editing an Instagram social media video template with her own product photo, bullet-point product details and brand colours and choosing an audio track, and building a logo by entering a company name, choosing a graphic, and editing text, ribbon, colours and background textures.

Key takeaways

• Placeit covers mockups, design templates, logos and videos, searchable from the top headers or the search bar
• Free items stay free; regular use favours the unlimited monthly or annual subscription over single-download purchases
• Subscription downloads include a commercial license, with mockups/designs/logos as PNG and videos as MP4
• Any template can be customised for wording, fonts, colours, graphics and crop size before downloading
• Mockups let you place your design on products like t-shirts and mugs and add buyer information as text without taking the photo yourself
