Best AI Video Generator (Top 5 Tools Compared)

About this video

Garrick, in partnership with Zapier, compares AI video generators by category rather than naming one overall winner. For realism, he compares Google’s Veo and Luma Labs’ Dream Machine using the same prompt: Luma can handle impressive motion and complex scenes with multiple elements, but results are inconsistent — e.g. a subject’s feet not seeming to touch the ground. Veo has the edge for consistency and cinematic camera movement, with lighting and motion staying natural frame to frame. He notes Google AI Pro subscribers ($20 a month, includes Gemini) already have Veo access. For stylized/animation, Pika leans cinematic and polished with strong lighting and reflections, while Runway leans to a traditional cartoony look with simpler shading — not better or worse, just different — but Runway stands out for control, including camera movement and starting from an uploaded video or still frame. He then shows Zapier automating workflows: Runway, Pika, and Veo via AI Studio have native integrations, others can connect via webhooks/APIs, e.g. turning Google Doc scene descriptions into Runway clips saved to Drive, or blog posts into social videos, or directing tools via Zapier MCP from ChatGPT or Claude. Finally, Kling at Kling.ai is highlighted for its free tier: no credit card required, limited free daily credits on sign-in, output comparable to Luma/Veo including dialogue and lip sync, multi-shot options and resolution/ratio controls, but free requests queue for 5 to 15 minutes in his experience.

Key takeaways

• For realistic footage, Veo currently beats Luma on consistency and cinematic camera movement, though Luma handles complex multi-element motion
• Google AI Pro at $20/month already includes access to Veo along with Gemini
• For stylized video, Pika gives a more cinematic look out of the box, while Runway gives more control over camera movement and starting frames
• Zapier connects natively to Runway, Pika, and Veo via AI Studio, and via webhooks/APIs to other tools, enabling automated scene-by-scene or blog-to-video workflows
• Kling offers a strong free starting point — no credit card, limited daily free credits — but free generations queue for 5 to 15 minutes
