The Dragon's Tree | Yatao | Handpan Duo

About this video

Published in 2019, “The Dragon’s Tree” gives the listener 8 minutes 3 seconds from the Malte Marten Music handpan catalog. Nothing in the title asks for a task to be completed; it is a handpan performance offered for listening over its full running time. That makes it flexible — foreground on a quiet evening, or background while the room does something else. The title credits Yatao alongside the channel’s playing, so the collaboration is part of what distinguishes this entry from the solo sessions.

Key takeaways

• With no task named in the title, the listener chooses the setting: foreground or background both fit.
• The full running time suits an unhurried listen rather than a preview.
• It pairs naturally with the channel’s longer sessions for an evening of one instrument.
• The running time is 8 minutes 3 seconds, so one play can be planned as a single block rather than a playlist of fragments.
• The title credits Yatao alongside Malte Marten, marking this as one of the catalog’s collaborative entries rather than a solo piece.
