Is The F-15EX Eagle The Best Fighter Jet Ever Made?

About this video

Max explains why the US Air Force is investing in the new F-15 EX fighter jet despite having stealth aircraft like the F-35 and F-22. He discusses the EX’s cost advantages, massive weapons capacity (up to 12 air-to-air missiles), two-seat configuration for both air-to-air and air-to-ground missions, and its suitability for combat scenarios where advanced enemy air defenses aren’t present. Max describes how the F-15 EX fits into modern warfare strategy and why allied nations are adopting it.

Key takeaways

• Max explains the F-15 EX is significantly cheaper than the F-22 ($70-80M vs $150M per copy) while offering greater weapons capacity than stealth fighters constrained by internal weapons bays
• According to Max, the F-15 EX excels in theaters without advanced air defenses like the S-400, making it ideal for scenarios like countering drones or supporting operations where it can serve as a ‘missile truck’ ahead of fifth-generation fighters
• Max highlights the EX’s modern software infrastructure allows plug-and-play avionics upgrades and its adoption by multiple US allies creates interoperability advantages similar to the F-35 in NATO
