Real F-16 Fighter Pilot Battles Iranian MiGS | Digital Combat Simulator

About this video

Max flies a simulated combat mission in Digital Combat Simulator, piloting an F-16 through a hypothetical Iranian scenario. He engages multiple MiG-29 fighters with AMRAAMs and AIM-9X missiles, strikes ground targets including oil tanks and communication facilities, and battles triple-A (anti-aircraft artillery) defenses. Throughout the stream, Max provides commentary on fighter tactics, the F-16 startup sequence, and his flying career while interacting with viewers.

Key takeaways

• Max demonstrates air-to-air engagement tactics, explaining that he prioritizes locking up the lead aircraft first, then the trailer, and emphasizes scanning for threats while switching between air-to-air and air-to-ground modes during strike missions
• Max explains that when attacking targets with heavy anti-aircraft artillery, pilots must get weapons off quickly, exit rapidly, and constantly change angles to avoid being hit
• Max notes that visual identification (VID) criteria and friendly fire concerns can require pilots to merge with enemy aircraft rather than engaging with long-range missiles, even when they might prefer to use AMRAAMs
