🔴 Real F-16 Fighter Pilot Evades SAM! LIVE #42

About this video

Max livestreams himself flying a Gulf War-era DCS mission created by a viewer named Alpha Gator, in which he pilots an F-16 tasked with bombing a target near Baghdad while evading multiple SAM (surface-to-air missile) launches and enemy fighters. He attempts the mission several times, troubleshooting his stream’s chat issues between runs, and shares his thought process for evading threats, timing weapons releases, and managing fuel. Max recounts anecdotes from his own military flying career, including pay calculations and the learning curve he experienced as a Thunderbirds pilot, to illustrate points about failure and improvement.

Key takeaways

• Max explains that in the simulated scenario, a pilot must balance multiple threats simultaneously — SAMs, AAA (anti-aircraft artillery), and enemy fighters — while prioritizing the mission objective of delivering ordnance on target.
• Max argues that seeing failure as an opportunity to improve is essential, recounting that he flew roughly 40 practice missions before becoming proficient in close formation flying with the Thunderbirds.
• Max describes defensive tactics such as kinematic/geographic defeat of missiles (using speed and distance), terrain masking, chaff and flare deployment, and ‘stiff-arming’ (maintaining offset geometry) against enemy aircraft.
