🔴 Real Fighter Pilot Flies Ukraine F-16 LIVE! Digital Combat Simulator #55

About this video

Max streams himself flying a Digital Combat Simulator mission in VR, where he role-plays as a Ukrainian F-16 pilot defending against Russian aircraft over Crimea. He engages multiple enemy fighters (Su-30s, Su-25s) and bombers (Tu-95s) while providing live commentary on the combat, the VR experience, and interacting with viewers on Twitch and YouTube. Max troubleshoots audio issues throughout the stream and discusses the advantages and technical challenges of using the Pimax Crystal VR headset with DCS, noting that while the visuals are impressive, the refresh rate struggles even with high-end hardware.

Key takeaways

• Max demonstrates a hypothetical combat scenario in DCS where a Ukrainian F-16 defends Crimea against waves of Russian Su-30 fighters, Su-25 ground attack aircraft, and Tu-95 bombers
• Max emphasizes that VR significantly enhances situational awareness in the simulator, allowing him to maintain visual contact with targets while maneuvering, which he describes as similar to real fighter aviation
• Max experiences technical challenges with the Pimax Crystal VR headset, specifically noting that the refresh rate is lower than desired despite using a high-end computer with a 4090 graphics card
