SHOCKING NEW PHOTOS of F-15E With DRONE KILLING Laser Rockets!

About this video

Max analyzes newly released photos from CENTCOM showing an F-15E Strike Eagle equipped with laser-guided rocket pods designed to kill drones. He explains that these APKWS2 rockets cost $15,000-$20,000 each compared to $1 million A120 missiles, and argues that this loadout could have been more effective during Iran’s April 2024 drone attack on Israel, when F-15Es ran out of missiles after shooting down over 70 drones. Max discusses the technical specifications of the laser and infrared guidance systems and speculates about future deployment strategies for counter-drone operations.

Key takeaways

• Max reports that CENTCOM released images of an F-15E carrying up to 42 APKWS2 laser-guided rockets, which he argues provide greater magazine depth against drone swarms at a fraction of the cost of traditional air-to-air missiles
• Max recounts that during Iran’s April 2024 attack, F-15Es from the 494th and 335th Fighter Squadrons downed over 70 drones but depleted their missiles so quickly that one crew attempted to use their gun
• Max explains that BAE Systems’ new dual-mode APKWS2 with infrared seekers enables fire-and-forget capability, allowing crews to engage multiple drones rapidly without maintaining laser designation on each target
