Thunderbird Pilot Reacts to YouTuber Crashing Plane on Purpose

About this video

Max analyzes footage of YouTuber Trevor Jacob, who admitted to intentionally crashing his plane for views and now faces federal charges. Max points out multiple indicators that the crash was staged, including Jacob taking off with the door cracked open, wearing a performance parachute, prioritizing his selfie stick during the emergency, and failing to follow standard emergency procedures. Max expresses disgust that Jacob destroyed a usable aircraft and endangered people on the ground purely for online attention.

Key takeaways

• Max identifies several signs Jacob staged the crash: the door was cracked open from takeoff (violating checklists), he wore a stunt parachute rather than a safety parachute, and he prioritized filming over proper emergency procedures
• Max argues that Jacob’s erratic control inputs and failure to follow standard emergency checklists (establishing best glide speed, attempting restart procedures, scanning for landing zones) reveal the crash was intentional
• Max criticizes Jacob for endangering people on the ground by bailing out and leaving the plane uncontrolled over an area with roads, cabins, and potential hikers, calling it a ‘Jesus take the wheel’ mentality
