Ukraine Took Down RUSSIAN AIRPOWER with Cheap Drones!

About this video

Max analyzes Ukraine’s Operation Spiderweb, which he describes as a bold attack by Ukraine’s SBU security service that targeted Russian Air Force bases across five locations over 2,000 nautical miles from Ukraine’s border. According to Max, Ukraine used 117 FPV (first-person view) drones costing around $600-$1,000 each to strike over 40 aircraft, causing what Ukraine’s SBU estimates to be $7 billion in damages to Russia. Max argues this operation demonstrates how inexpensive drone technology can destroy high-value military assets and suggests it represents a turning point in asymmetric warfare that could influence global military strategies.

Key takeaways

• Max explains that Ukraine allegedly smuggled 117 FPV drones into Russia hidden in wood containers on trucks disguised as civilian vehicles, launching them from inside Russian territory to bypass long-range air defenses
• According to Max, the operation destroyed or damaged strategic aircraft including Tu-95 Bear bombers, Tu-22M Backfire bombers, and an A-50 airborne command center, with many of these Soviet-era aircraft being irreplaceable
• Max argues this operation demonstrates that cheap drones (under $1,000 each) can effectively destroy billion-dollar aircraft, exposing vulnerabilities in air base defenses globally and likely sparking a drone arms race
